Interpretive Wildlife Naturalist
What
is your favorite event? Why? The only events I’ve done are bike marathons
and 5ks. I go back and forth between
what my favorite is, but I’m really looking to do a 10k for a challenge.
How
would you describe your nutrition?
Omnivore, veggie, vegan, raw, locavore…
I am an omnivore who tries to focus on organic
foods and avoid fillers and preservatives.
How
do you feel your nutrition affects your performance during events and in daily
life?
I noticed I feel “lighter” and have more energy
when I eat more fruits and veggies. I
definitely feel like I’m carrying bags of sand after eating junk food!
What
do you feel is the greatest nutritional and fitness challenges facing kids and
adolescence?
I think the greatest challenge is that parents
don’t understand proper nutrition and appropriate portion sizes. Many think that chips, fruit snacks, and
sports drinks are OK snacks for kids in between meals. Kids do not get into the habit of using
fruits and other fresh foods as snacks and meals.
How
has using a trainer helped you?
A trainer has retrained my brain for proper
nutrition and portion sizes. He has also
helped me get into the habit of exercising regularly and given me a repertoire
of workouts that I can use on my own. I
also have someone to give me sound and personalized advice on any obstacles and
challenges I’m facing, as well as give me knew ideas to solve problems. Thanks, Jason!
Coach’s Note:
Yvette lost nearly 40lbs and 17” of body fat while on a program with
Progressive Complete Health Inc. To be
fair, she did her homework as assigned between workouts with a trainer. Great job Yvette!
