What is your favorite event?
I’ve really enjoyed running since I’ve left the Army. Not having to do it and being able to enjoy it for Ragnar- I just ran a Ragnar Relay here in Washington and had so much fun!!! Running events seem to have such a great climate. Everyone is really supportive and really has fun!
How would you describe your nutrition? Omnivore, veggie, vegan, raw, locavore…
Definitely an omnivore. I have 3 children and a husband who loves steak. We eat 3 square meals at home. Every dinner has meat, carbs and veggies.
How do you feel your nutrition affects your performance during events and in daily life?
I know that when I’m in a hurry or at work, I don’t make the best food choices. If I try to run afterward I can definitely feel the difference. I’m run down and don’t focus on my form.
How do you find time to get fitness into your already hectic schedule?
I try to run when the kids are in school or daycare. My husband is usually supportive and lets me run on the weekends. I am active with my children and take them for bike rides or hiking. If I can’t get outside, I do the elliptical machine at home- not my favorite- I’d rather be outside!
My hope is to run a marathon this fall. I would love to eventually do an Ironman, I think that will have to wait until the kids get bigger.
